True Stories of Success and Wealth Sprouting from Poverty and Pain

It doesn't matter where you come from. What matters is what you believe.

A true rags to riches story. A must-read for every entrepreneur.

"Brilliant, funny, and often poignant, his pithy midwestern idiom paints the picture of a young life well-lived–despite hardship and tribulation ... an oblique view into a unique aspect of Americana that is forever gone, except for its imprint in works like this."

–Niall Dillon, Entrepreneur, CEO NuPath Labs

"A myriad of true stories about a life of poverty and the broken seed from which the successful man has grown."

–Marlon Mormann, Attorney at Law, Entreprenuer, Rancher, Retired administrative Law Judge

"Steve Ames' story of overcoming hardship is not your ordinary 'rags-to-riches' affair. Within its pages lies a road map for creating your own chances–especially when there appear to be none."

–Jude Rawlins, Filmmaker and Musician,

For over 40 years, Steve Ames hid behind his success as a real estate investor. He didn’t want anyone to know what he had been through as a child.

Only recently did he develop the courage to start sharing his stories. As you read or listen to each one, keep in mind two things:

  1. If you’re struggling with disadvantages or disabilities that seem impossible to overcome, you are not alone.

  2. If you have a child or a loved one who is struggling, there is hope.

Steve began his entrepreneurial journey with nothing more than a tiny seed of an idea. From that seed sprouted success beyond his wildest dreams. He is living proof that even if you grew up in abject poverty, you can still grow generational wealth.

reader reviews

I downloaded the kindle version of the book. Awesome stories from this guy's life. A must-read as it is full of examples of turning negatives into positives in life. I liked the illustrations too.
